Good news/Bad news

The Curse would like to congratulate our friend and occasional guitarist
(Chris Del Rio) on the birth of his 2nd son earlier this week. Unfortunately,
(and completely understandably) since the baby came about a week sooner
than expected, Chris will not be able to perform with us at The M3
Festival tomorrow because he will be with his family.

We are very pleased to announce that our original guitarist
(Jesus Zamudio) will be performing with us for the first time
in about 4 years! We had a rehearsal with him earlier today
and he's sounding better than ever! It's no Morrissey/Marr
or Alan Wilder/DM but it's still a reunion you won't
want to miss!

-The Curse

With our guitarist Peter Lobo in New York we'd like to welcome back
our good friend Chris Del Rio on guitar. Alexis and I just started off
the year with a special acoustic set in Las Vegas and we're happy to
announce that our first proper show of the year will be a short warm-up
at the House of Blues in Hollywood with U2 Tribute “Hollywood U2”
and “INXS-ive” (tribute to INXS)

It's now official, everyone in The Curse is currently in their 30's!!
How old is too old to be in a tribute band anyway?????

We're almost out of time for this year but we're still trying to
make the Prayer Tour set happen. We're hoping we can
have it as soon as early December. Check back soon.....

In the meantime, you can download The Cure's show
from Dodger Stadium 1989:

Some of you may be aware that we've been planning a Disintegration
show to celebrate 20 years of the album's release. With the news of the
21 Year Anniversary Remaster due out in Spring of 2010 we decided
to hold off until then. Rather than just play the entire album the way
we did in 2004, this time around we'll be doing a Prayer Tour set,
probably similar to The Cure's Dodger Stadium set from 1989.

We haven't been able to get back into the studio to finish our
version of "The Perfect Boy" for
The Pink Pig Project so we
did a quick recording at our soundcheck this past Saturday
(May 23rd 2009) at Club Rock It. We'll still submit our
proper studio version if it's completed in time but there's
a good chance this live soundcheck recording will be
the one we use:

The Curse-The Perfect Boy (mp3)

Robert Smith talks about The Curse in an interview with
Richard Blade!! He mentions the Myspace Secret Show
they played on December 13th 2008 and how we had to
miss it because he also had a show that night just a few
short miles away from where they were performing.

Since the Cure are coming to California for Coachella
this weekend, we decided not to have our "50 Imaginary Years"
Birthday Celebration for Robert. Instead, we'll be celebrating
"30 Imaginary Years" of The Cure this July at The Roxy.
We're trying to make this more of a Curefan event instead
of just a regular show for The Curse. I'll post more info soon.

We just got through with our first practice of the year
and are ready for tonight's show in Pomona.
We're also very pleased to announce our newest
member in the band:
Peter Lobo on guitar.
